INSTALL THIS 1st. STUDIO SITE EQUIPMENT

Barix Instreamer
This unit is pre-configured to stream digital audio from ip address 192.168.1.1. Situate and connect the audio from the studio output directly into LINE IN on this unit. Connect the digital output of this unit to the POE (Power Over Ethernet) point using the 1 metre standard ethernet RJ45 Cat5/6 cable. This POE adapter mixes the power supply with the digital stream. Connect the output of the POE to the very long 30 metre RJ45 Cat5/6 screened cable. Run this very long cable to the location of the active dish antenna outside.

Long Range PowerBeam Active Antenna (SEND IP 192.168.1.2)
This long range active dish antenna is pre-configured as an ‘access point’ ip address 192.168.1.2. This unit sends the signal upto 20km in the right conditions to be received by another similar active dish antenna.

Assemble the SEND active dish antenna as follows:

1. Align and insert the tabs of the Dish Bracket into the slots of the Dish Reflector. Rotate the Dish Bracket counter‑clockwise until the tabs lock into place.

2. Line up the Alignment Pins of the Rear Housing with the alignment holes of the Dish Bracket. Insert the pins and push until they lock into place.

3. Push in the sides of the Cable Door and detach it from the Rear Housing

4. Attach the SEND ANTENNA FEED WITH 192.168.1.2 STICKER FITTED:
a. Insert the Antenna Feed into the Rear Housing, and push until it locks into place with a click.
b. Lightly pull the Antenna Feed to ensure that it is locked into place and the Release button is fully engaged.

5. Connect the 30 METRE CAT5/6 STP/FTP SCREENED NETWORK CABLE:
a. Connect the cable to the Ethernet Port of the Antenna Feed.
b. Re-attach the Cable Door to the Rear Housing

6. Slide the Pole Clamp onto the Dish Bracket.

7. Insert the U-Bolt into the Pole Clamp and Dish Bracket. Secure each end of the U-Bolt with a Flange Nut

Install the dish antenna at the studio on the roof or other place outside as high as possible. Point the front face of the dish to the transmitter site. When this is complete the Instreamer POE and Active Dish Antenna should be powered before the installation is carried out at the transmitter site.

INSTALL 2nd. TRANSMITTER SITE EQUIPMENT

Long Range PowerBeam Active Antenna (RECEIVE IP 192.168.1.3)

This long range active dish antenna is configured as an ‘client bridge’ ip address 192.168.1.3. Install this antenna on the tower of the transmitter site. DO NOT INSTALL IT NEAR TO THE FM ANTENNAS, as far away as possible, but with the front face having a clear view to the studio. This unit receives the digital signal from the access point or the SEND active antenna.

Assemble the RECEIVE active dish antenna as follows:

1. Align and insert the tabs of the Dish Bracket into the slots of the Dish Reflector. Rotate the Dish Bracket counter‑clockwise until the tabs lock into place.

2. Line up the Alignment Pins of the Rear Housing with the alignment holes of the Dish Bracket. Insert the pins and push until they lock into place.

3. Push in the sides of the Cable Door and detach it from the Rear Housing

4. Attach the RECEIVE ANTENNA FEED WITH 192.168.1.3 STICKER FITTED:
a. Insert the Antenna Feed into the Rear Housing, and push until it locks into place with a click.
b. Lightly pull the Antenna Feed to ensure that it is locked into place and the Release button is fully engaged.

5. Connect the 30 METRE CAT5/6 STP/FTP SCREENED NETWORK CABLE:
a. Connect the cable to the Ethernet Port of the Antenna Feed.
b. Re-attach the Cable Door to the Rear Housing

6. Slide the Pole Clamp onto the Dish Bracket.

7. Insert the U-Bolt into the Pole Clamp and Dish Bracket. Secure each end of the U-Bolt with a Flange Nut

Run the 30 metre cable down to the location where the transmitters are housed, connect it to the POE. The very long CAT 5/6 cable should be held tight against the metal structure of the tower or pole, this will prevent potential interference problems from the main FM transmitter antennas.

Barix Exstreamer
This unit is pre-configured to ip address 192.168.1.4 and to decode the digital audio stream. Using the 1 metre standard ethernet RJ45 Cat5/6 cable connect the POE to the Exstreamer. Connect the audio LINE OUT from this unit directly into the input of the Aareff Limiter ALSCB. When this is complete the Exstreamer, POE and the RECEIVE active dish antenna should be powered.

Final Alignment
There are signal strength LEDs on FEED of the active dish antenna.

Move the active dish antenna on the tower for the best signal. PLEASE NOTE!. It takes between 1 and 2 minutes seconds for the whole system to boot up and start transferring audio.
